Estate Planning

A proper estate plan can put you and your family at ease.  Every situation is unique.  We will meet with you and help you decide what works best for you.  From wills and living trusts to advance health care directives and durable powers of attorney, we can help you strategize and implement your plan.  If you have creative properties, like music or other copyrights, or related royalty rights, there are often special considerations with regard to estate planning and we can help you plan to pass those assets on to your heirs. 

If a living trust is part of your plan, we can assist you with transferring assets to it, once established, including your ownership interest in business entities such as limited liability company membership interests, corporate shares, or partnership interests. 

Many clients feel overwhelmed by the prospect of estate planning.  Our process can help you past the stumbling blocks.  We will meet with you, discuss your needs in depth and formulate a plan.  We will then provide you with preliminary drafts of the documents that you need.  We will work through those documents with you, modifying and explaining, as necessary.  When you feel comfortable with the changes and the final drafts, we will schedule an appointment for signing. 

After you have executed the documents, we will assist you with transfers if you have a living trust.  After you are finished with the process, we will be available to answer any questions that might arise or to amend the documents should there be a change of plans.
